Scottish exam results – Useful resources
It was the big day many of Scotland’s pupils and students had been waiting anxiously for all summer. The results of last year’s studies and hard work arrived through the letter box in the shape of exam results or appeared via text/emailor in their MySQA profile.
As well as wanting to wish everyone good luck ahead of the big day, we pulled together some useful links that might help you plan your next steps once you have your results – from Skills Development Scotland’s exam helpline that opens tomorrow, through to where you can find out more about clearing, appeals and general career advice online.
Skills Development Scotland – Exams Results Helpline
Whether your thinking about going to university or college, training, getting a job, or need another option, the SDS helpline will can advise you on possible next steps. Open from Tuesday August 7th for two weeks they’ll be taking your calls on 0808 100 8000. More details and opening times for other dates on the SDS website.
UCAS Scottish Clearings
Scottish clearings search is live now online, visit the UCAS website for more information on the clearings and adjustment processes and an explanation on how they work.
Scottish Qualifications Authority
The SQA have a numbers useful areas on their website, from being able to access your results online for those that pre-registered for MySQA to information about the exam appeals process as well as a section of general advice and FAQ’s for candidates.
Careers Advice – My World of Work
Another Skills Development Scotland resource, My World of Work is a careers advice website crammed with useful information. If you know the kind of job you’re after they can offer advice on what to do next and for those that aren’t sure they can help you consider your options, as well as offer lots of useful advice and tips from professional careers advisers, including covering letter, CV and interview advice.
