National Parent Forum of Scotland discussion – Closing summary
Following the recent National Parent Forum of Scotland’s pre-conference online discussion, NPFS Chair, Iain Ellis and Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s Languages, Dr Alasdair Allan would like to add their thanks to those involved.
Iain Ellis, NPFS Chair
“Thanks again to everybody who took part in this year’s debate and contributed questions, comments and responses. I would also like to thank Bishopbriggs Academy for hosting our third annual conference and to all the parents, carers and young people who attended as well as all the speakers, exhibitors and everybody who helped us with organising the conference for making it such an interesting and lively event. It was great to see parents from different parts of the country sharing ideas and experiences to make parental involvement even stronger in all our schools. Thank you and I’m looking forward to seeing you all at the next conference.”
Dr Alasdair Allan, Minister for Learning, Science and Scotland’s Languages
“I would like to thank the NPFS for organising this debate and to all those who joined in for taking the time to share their thoughts and questions. It was great to hear parents’ views on a range of aspects of Scottish education. Parents play a huge part in supporting their children’s learning and supporting their school in delivering Curriculum for Excellence.
I am committed to ensuring that parents’ perspective continues to feeds into national education policy and I look forward to continue working with NPFS and other parent and carer organisations to achieve this.”
